Activity 1 – Pair Work. Now Your Try. Choose food, then ask your partner about it. Use the dialogue above as your guide.

Class Discussion. Which food have the most calories? Which food has the most fat? Which food is healthy?

Activity 2 – Group Work: Make Your Own ‘Meal Plan’

You are going to make a meal plan for one day. That means you will plan three meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner. When you are finished your meal plan tell your group about it.

First, find out how many calories you should eat in one day. Log on to:

http://www.self.com/health/nutrition/calculators/calories. Your teacher will show you how to calculate your daily required calories. When you plan your meals, make sure you don’t eat more calories than you need to.

Next, log on to:

Now choose the food you will eat for your three meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Use the calorie calculator on the website to to tell you the number of calories each in each kind of food. Add up the total number of calories for your three meals. Did you go over your daily required calories? Tell your group about your meal plan.
